Summer skills day
PLANS have been announced for a Cuestars Snooker Skills Challenge day next month.
World Snooker coaches Tim Dunkley and John Hunter will run the event on Sunday, July 23, at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.
You will be introduced to practice routines that will help to improve your matchplay snooker skills. You can find the routines at www.cuestars.co.uk/bronze (or Silver or Gold)-challenge. Feel free to try them out beforehand.
Trophies will be awarded to the Gold, Silver and Bronze players who record the highest scores in their respective 11 routines.
Providing he has no World Snooker commitments, our Cuestars Championship Tour winner and now professional player Billy Castle will be in attendance to give you an insight into his own practice routines.
The club will be open for practice at 9.30am. The challenge will start at 10.30am and finish at 4pm. Entry fee is £10. Usual Cuestars under-21 dress code applies: smart trousers (no jeans or tracksuits), shoes (no trainers) and a collared shirt.
Please confirm your attendance by emailing [email protected].
Talking of skills, Gold Tour player Connor Benzey has joined Bradley Cowdroy as the only current under-21 Cuestars members to have completed the Cuestars Coaching Programme. The 15-year-old from Eastleigh passed Level 10 with a score of 21 on the hottest day of the year.
