12-year-old wins £500
A CUESTARS Under-21 Silver Tour player has won a whopping £500 in a six-month snooker competition.
Navraj Landa earned his biggest payday and claimed his first title by winning the 35th Open Series at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.
The 12-year-old from Eastleigh (pictured) ended the 26-week competition with a massive 29-point lead and reduced his handicap by an impressive 19 points over the six months.
Runner-up Sam Perkins, 13, a Bronze Tour player, will collect £430 after holding off third-placed Steve Read (£340), who competes on the Seniors Tour.
Navraj joined the junior section at Chandlers Ford SC in May, 2023. After putting together his first 20 break during that summer, he made his debut on the Bronze Tour. He earned promotion to Silver this season and his highest competitive break is now 68.
A new 26-week series starts at 1pm next Saturday.
Cuestars members will collect ten of the 12 money prizes, which total £2,235: £500 Navraj Landa, £430 Sam Perkins, £340 Steve Read, £165 Neil Carroll, £105 Christopher Woodward, £85 Ellise Scott, £65 O’Shay Scott, £65 Asten Sahota, £55 Lennon Savage, £50 William Thomson.
