Four-year-old sets Cuestars record
A FOUR-year-old from High Wycombe has earned a place in the Cuestars records book.
Zayyan Bashir is the youngest player we have been told about to have passed Bronze Level 1 of the Cuestars Academy.
The pint-sized potter scored a total of 21 points while working with WPBSA coach Mark Ringham in Swindon at the age of four years seven months and 25 days.
Cuestars director John Hunter said: “I think he is the youngest.”
Mark said: “I first met Zayyan on 2nd August, 2024, when his dad, Assad, came for a joint lesson with Zayyan.
“It was clear from early on he has some natural talent for the game and he loves the game.
“It has not been easy and has taken a lot of hard work. It is a fantastic achievement to pass Cuestars Bronze Level 1 at the tender age of four.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how far this kid can go.”
Zayyan, who is a member of the Cuestars Academy, stands on a stool to reach the table.
The previous record was held by William Thomson who passed Bronze Level 1 with a score of 23 on the opening day of the 2017 Ken Jones May Half-Term Cup at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club five days before his fifth birthday.
