Hogg credits JP’s for Coulsdon success

A HERTFORDSHIRE teenager reckons switching snooker clubs was the key to his success on the Cuestars Under-21 Silver Tour in south London.

Jamie Hogg beat Brighton-based Gus Walker 2-1 from 1-0 down in the final of the seventh leg at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.

“Gus played really well in the first frame,” said the 15-year-old from Stevenage.

Competing in his first tournament this season, Hogg added: “It was a long but very fun day.”

And explaining why he moved to JP’s Snooker & Pool Club, Harlow, he said: “It’s good match practice, better players and everyone there is really helpful – especially the owner and the professional, (world No 89) Zak Surety.”

It’s as you were for the top three in the rankings. Mason Wilson (Basingstoke) remains in pole position despite finishing joint third in his round-robin group. Jack Squires (Gosport) is second and Channel Islander Archie Greier, who lost 2-1 to Hogg in the last-four, is third.
