Lloyd clinches second Championship Tour title
MARK Lloyd has secured the 2024/25 Cuestars Championship Tour title and the £600 prize with two legs still to play.
A fifth tournament win out of seven means the 25-year-old from Gosport now has an unassailable lead.
Lloyd pocketed another £200 after beating home player and first-time finalist Dan Webb to clinch the seventh leg at Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth.
The 2018/19 champion recorded the day’s highest break of 77 in the final.
Shane Hatfield (Bournemouth) made his first appearance in the last-four.
Jack Dady (Basingstoke) narrowly beat Mark Prescott (Bournemouth) 2-1 in the Plate final.
The event was sponsored by the well-respected tournament director and qualified referee Chris Wyatt.
The Crucible Sports & Social Club, Newbury, hosts the eighth leg of nine on Sunday, April 13.
