First EASB U21 Series final for Winbourne
HEDGE End teenager Jordan Winbourne let slip a two-frame lead in his first final in the EASB Under-21 Series South.
The 16-year-old (pictured) was beaten 3-2 by Sam Harvey (Bedford) in the third leg of five at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.
Harvey made a 74 from his opponent’s break in the decider.
Winbourne, fourth in the rankings, put his recent good form down to “just practising hard”.
Earlier, he compiled breaks of 65 and 67 in 3-0 victories over Michael Rogers (Taunton) and Lewis Mayes (Essex).
Two other south coast players are in the top three.
Marchwood’s Shane Castle, 15, winner of the first two legs, remained top despite a 3-1 quarter-final defeat by Mayes.
And third-placed Adam Bobat (Fareham) compiled a 104 in his 3-2 last-eight exit to Harvey.
