Nothing has changed, says Bell’s Decor boss

NOTHING has changed on the Cuestars junior circuit, insists the sponsor of the fifth legs of the Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours.

Ian Bell, boss of Poole-based decorating contractor Bell’s Decor Ltd, presented all the trophies at Greenbaize Snooker Club, Bournemouth, earlier this month after watching the new generation in action.

The 28-year-old used to strut his stuff when the under-21 competitions were all handicapped. But, apart from that, it was all too familiar.

“It’s not changed a bit since I did it,” said Ian.

“The parents are still sat there biting their fingernails and the kids are just potting balls for fun.”

Watching one of the Gold semi-finals, Ian was impressed with Callum Browne, who went on to lose in the final to Mickey Joyce.

“He was very good,” he said. “He had a few nice long pots and he was turning pots down as well, which is good to see.

“There’s some good kids, to be fair, from what I’ve seen of them. And it’s good to see a girl playing.”

Bell’s Decor handles major projects across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire. The new Travelodge at Lifeboat Quay, Poole, is one recent example.
