14 Cuestars players called up for Home Internationals

AN IMPRESSIVE total of 14 regular Cuestars players have qualified for the England teams for this year’s Home Internationals.

And in a testament to our junior programme, 13 of those chosen to sport a three-gold-lions badge on their waistcoat are drawn from our Under-21 Gold and Silver Tours.
The event takes place from August 2-8 at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds.

UNDER-21S
English Junior Tour champion Oliver Sykes takes his place in the A team. Gold Tour rankings champion Evan Plummer turns out for the B side. Two-time national championship runner-up O’Shay Scott is in the C team. Brighton youngster Adam Abbas is in the D side.

UNDER-16S
Seven of the 12 places in the three Under-16 sides have gone to Cuestars players. And that is impressive! Asten Sahota, Harry Wyatt and William Hurley are in the A team. Ryan Spratt has been made captain of the B side and is joined by William Thomson. Zain Jeraj skippers the C side which includes Dylan Beer.

MASTERS
Neil Craycraft, who finished third on the EPSB English Seniors Tour, has been rewarded with a slot in the over-40’s team.

LADIES
Ellise Scott, who recently won her first under-21 title on the World Women’s Tour, wins her first England cap.

BILLIARDS
Riley Ellis, Asten Sahota and William Thomson take their places in the national B side.
It’s worth bearing in mind that every single one of those players had to be shown how to make a bridge hand and every single one was delighted to make a first break of 20 or more and every single one has had to work hard to get where they are today.
