Aquatec renew Steven Hughes sponsorship

STEVEN Hughes (pictured) has received a major sponsorship boost days before making his England debut.

Aquatec Plumbing and Heating renewed its financial backing of the 20-year-old ahead of the Home Internationals at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds.

Hughes has been selected to captain the country’s junior billiards team after winning last season’s EPSB Junior Billiards Tour rankings.

Aquatec boss Mark Stickland said: “We are so very proud to be sponsoring Steven. He had achieved amazing things. And what an honour to be representing England.

“Steven has done so well with his snooker and billiards whilst working full-time as an accountant and still studying for exams. He is always committed and practises as much as time allows.

“It is pleasure to see how well he has progressed over the years.”

Hughes said: “It’s a great feeling, having Aquatec sponsor me again for the Home Internationals and into next season.

“What a great few months it’s been! First, winning the junior billiards rankings, then being asked to captain the England junior billiards team and now this.

“I would just like to say a big thanks to Mark and (his wife) Amanda for the continued support and having the belief in me.”
