Cuestars players ready for the 900
EIGHT regular Cuestars players have been invited to compete in The Snooker Legends 900.
The brainchild of the forward-thinking Jason Francis, this brand-new event is similar to the Shoot Out – but it’s only for amateurs.
More than £50,000 is up for grabs over the nine weeks.
All matches will be played in the Stephen Hendry Matchroom at The Crucible Sports & Social Club Reading and broadcast live on Sporty Stuff TV.
Among the household names appearing are Dennis Taylor, Tony Knowles, Joe Johnson and Tony Drago.
Matches are single 15-minute frames (ie, 900 seconds, hence the name) using a 20-second shot clock. Like the Shoot Out, it’s ball in hand following a foul and a ball must hit a cushion if no pot is achieved.
The eight weekly winners meet for a grand final in the ninth week.
Taking their places among the 96 amateurs are: Billy Castle, Marcos Dayao, Connor Benzey, John Hunter, Jamie Wilson, Matt Ford, Wayne Townsend and Dharminder Singh Lilly. It all starts next Tuesday.
Sporty Stuff TV is available on SKY 437, Freesat 250, Freeview 264 and sportystuff.tv.
