Jasmine, 13, chalks up three great results at world championships
WOKING schoolgirl Jasmine Bolsover took a frame off world number one Maria Catalano and collected two victories over seasoned tour players to progress from the group stages of the women’s world championships.
The 13-year-old lost 3-0 in the first knockout round to Hong Kong star Jaique Ip Wan In, twice a runner-up in the IBSF Women’s World Championship. Bolsover was the youngest of the 20-strong international field gathered at Cambridge Snooker Centre for the World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association showpiece event. Currently lying 13th on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour, the world number 19 was also beaten 3-0 in the Junior final by 16-year-old England international Hannah Jones, now a five-time champion.
Teaming up with dad Gavin in the Mixed Pairs, the Bolsovers were knocked out in the first round 3-0 by Mandy Fisher and Phil Mumford.
