Ronnie wins 2015 Pink Ribbon
RONNIE O’Sullivan won the annual Pink Ribbon Pro-Am at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester.
Championship Tour player Ollie Douglas was the longest surviving Cuestars member, finally going out 4-1 in the last-64 to professional David Grace.
Grace had beaten Craig Marsh by the same scoreline in the previous round.
Ryan Mears, who lost 4-2 to Ian Wagstaff, was the only other one to make the last-128.
James Budd, Keegan Reed, Brad Chappell, Ronnie Blake, Lewis Parnham, Ben Tanner, Sam Storey and Pat Patel were knocked out in the preliminary or first rounds.
O’Sullivan (pictured) beat amateur Darryn Walker 4-2 in the final. Or was that the semi-final?
A former professional, Walker packed in snooker in 2004 but was persuaded to pick his cue up again ten years later at his dad’s funeral by an old friend, according to the Express and Star.
He paid for two entries in the Pink Ribbon, reached the final with one life and the semis with the other. Already exhausted, he and the Rocket agreed to just play the one match.
The event raised more than £11,000 for breast cancer charities.
