Archie Light claims 29-day Rotary Summer Cup
ARCHIE Light (pictured) claimed his first school holiday title at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club four days before his Cuestars Under-21 Bronze Tour debut in Salisbury.
Archie, who turned ten on Day 27 of the marathon 29-day competition, is the 2022 Rotary Summer Cup champion. He missed just two days.
Two-time and defending champion Tyler Beer was runner-up. Tyler topped the final day’s nine-strong snooker round-robin on the head-to-head rule from Ellise Scott and collected the Week 5 trophy.
William Thomson – who, along with Harry Wyatt, Asten Sahota, Zain Jeraj and O’Shay Scott, spent a brilliant day with Joe Perry on Tuesday – finished in third place.
Archie, from Lymington, recorded a new high break of 31 during the competition. This was one of a staggering 13 personal bests recorded over the summer.
Oliver Sykes made the highest snooker break of 105. Riley Ellis’s 64 was the highest billiards break. Dylan Beer contributed the highest cricket break of 68. And 25 levels of the Cuestars Academy levels were passed.
Next is the Autumn Half-Term Cup, October 24-28.
