Chloe to take Emma’s crown
A 14-YEAR-OLD has been tipped to eventually take Emma Bonney’s crown as the best woman snooker player in Portsmouth.
Chloe White (pictured) won the August monthly under-21 tournament at Copnor Snooker Club. She defeated Daniel Compton and Ben Tillison in a tough group and then beat Luke Dixon and Ashley Smith in a round-robin final.
White reached the quarter-finals of all four events she entered on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour last season and finished in 12th spot.
Steve Toms, one of the section organisers at Copnor SC, reckons that experience helped her take “confidence and knowledge into her matches” in the Portsmouth Summer League where she has become “a major player”.
“I think that within time she came become the best ladies player in Portsmouth,” he added.
Bonney, 39, a multiple women’s world billiards champion, is a three-time women’s world snooker championship runner-up.
