Cowdroy claims Dorset Open title
BRADLEY Cowdroy was delighted to tick the Dorset Open off his checklist.
The 17-year-old from Bournemouth pocketed £400 prize money for winning the annual event at Greenbaize Snooker Club.
Cowdroy defeated Rikki Moore 4-3 from 3-2 down in the final and recorded the day’s highest break of 89 in his last-32 victory over David Brock.
It came three years after he lost 4-3 in the 2017 final to Tony Beck.
“It’s been on my checklist to tick off ever since I made the final for the first time so I’m absolutely made up to win it,” said the teenager.
“The way I played and scored under pressure in the final when it mattered most was a really good sign moving forward as well.”
The event attracted 40 of the county’s top amateurs.
