First school-holiday title for Greier
ARCHIE Greier increased his highest break – twice – en route to claiming his first school-holiday title at Chandlers Ford Snooker Club.
The ten-year-old Silver Tour player from Jersey survived a minor scare on the fifth day to land the Autumn Half-Term Cup.
Just as it looked like second-placed George Broom might overtake the Channel Islander during the final snooker round-robin, Greier put his foot on the gas and knocked in a personal best 66 break against Alex Chilczuk.
He made a 60 the previous day.
Greier is sponsored by offshore service provider R&H Jersey, the Parish of St Clement and law firm Le Gallais & Luce. In addition, he receives five pairs of return tickets courtesy of the Blue Islands flight funding programme.
Chandlers Ford SC runs junior competitions on every weekday during every school holiday and has done for 11 years. We do it all again at Christmas.
