Gibbs back to winning ways

TEN-year-old Ollie Gibbs bounced back from his disappointment in Fareham the previous Sunday in the best possible way.

The talented youngster (pictured left) from Gosport took the honours in the monthly Open at Stoke Snooker Club.

In his debut season, Gibbs has won two tournaments on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour but he failed to stop Luke Beebe (Chandler’s Ford SC) clinching the rankings title in the seventh leg at Fareham Snooker Club.

Although he took the first frame in the final, Beebe ran out a 2-1 winner in a tense and high-quality match.

Gibbs’ mum, dad, grandma, grandad and sister are all very proud as always.

Mum Louise said: “He is learning to deal with pressure. We are very pleased with his progress.”
