Hat-trick for Mickey
MICKEY Joyce, aged just 12, is only the third player to have completed a hat-trick of Eastleigh & District Under-19 Premier titles.
The four-time champion (pictured) from Basingstoke now has in his sights the all-time record of five held by Alex Dunkley and Gareth Crook.
Joyce competes on the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Gold Tour and the EASB Regional Junior Tour South.
In fact, two out-of-towners claimed the top honours in League 49 as Gosport-based Olly Gibbs, 11, won his first Under-13 Premier title.
Steven Hughes claimed the hotly-contested Under-19 runners-up spot. Connor Benzey was third.
Nine-year-old Oliver Sykes pipped Ryan Hughes for the Division 1 title. Harry Wilson had already secured Division 2.
In the Under-13s, former champion Jamie Wilson was second ahead of Sykes. Lewis Wilson was fourth.
Jordan Clothier took the Division 1 title by one point from Bowen Zhu. Seven-year-old Lewis Aisthorpe-Buckley was crowned Division 2 champion.
League 50 started on Saturday at Chandler’s Ford SC. U13s play from 9-11am and U19s from 11am-1pm. Ring 023 8025 4834 for more details.
