Nine reasons to be cheerful
JOHN Hunter has selected his favourite nine recent achievements by Cuestars members ahead of the new season which starts on September 11.
As preparations continue for the 2016/17 campaign, Hunter reckons that the 24 sponsors will “enhance the level of our competitions”. Talking about his vision for Cuestars, he said: “It’s to provide a grassroots platform to help players meet their snooker aspirations.“Cuestars at its best is a family of snooker players competing hard but fairly against each other and enjoying each other’s achievements.“We now have players at all ages achieving national success.”
Below are some of the most notable recent achievements:
Ben Harrison (pictured): England Amateur Championship winner in 2014 and runner-up in 2013
Billy Castle: England Amateur Championship runner-up in 2015.
Matt Ford: Won the first leg of the 2015/16 English Masters Tour.
Mark Lloyd: 2015 English Under-16 Championship winner and 2016 English Under-18 Championship winner.
Jamie Wilson: English Under-14 Championship runner-up at the age of 12.
Mickey Joyce: Promoted to the EASB Premier Junior Tour at the age of 13.
Connor Benzey: 102 break in a tournament at the age of 14.
Aidan Murphy: 118 break in a practice frame at the age of 11.
Oliver Sykes: 52 break in a Cuestars tournament at the age of ten years and 29 days.
