Pollard breaks his duck
SALISBURY teenager Ally Pollard was “thrilled” just to have reached the final of the half-term Cuestars Snooker Day.
But the 16-year-old “couldn’t believe it” when he collected his first winner’s trophy from Cuestars director John Hunter.
Pollard (pictured left) beat his clubmate Callum McDonald on the final black on their home tables at Salisbury Snooker Club.
In the aggregate-points group stages, the Cuestars Bronze Tour player edged Kaine Petty, from Fordingbridge, also on the final black and that gave him just enough points to qualify for the final.
Having broken his duck, Pollard said: “Hopefully, there will be more to come.”
