Portsmouth Town Championship
EX-PROFESSIONAL Mike Talmondt has ended number-one seed Pascal Richard’s hopes of landing a hat-trick of Portsmouth singles titles.
Appeared in his sixth final in seven years, number-two seed Talmondt (pictured) beat the Cuestars Section leader from Copnor Snooker Club 4-0 at Portchester Social Club.
The 42-year-old taxi driver – who is based at The Craneswater Snooker Club and competes on the Cuestars South of England Seniors Tour, which he won last season – clinched his third title in six years with breaks of 46, 39 and 32.
In the semi-finals of the Portchester Social Club Cup run by the Portsmouth District Billiards & Snooker Association, Talmondt accounted for his clubmate Steve Cole 3-1 while Richard saw off Ian Carter 3-0.
The first match was refereed by Cuestars Bronze Tour player Chloe White.
League official Steve Toms said: “Chloe is learning refereeing which will enable her to look at the other side of the game.
“There was some pressure as the club was quite full and she adapted herself very well for her first time.”
