Puri’s perfect Masters debut
ROCHESTER cueman Raj Puri didn’t drop a single frame on his debut on the Cuestars Masters Tour.
Nine days after clinching the Kent Veterans title, Puri pocketed £50 for winning the first leg of the over-55’s midweek circuit.
He rounded off ten unanswered frames with a 2-0 victory over Neil Carroll (Southampton) in the final at Salisbury Snooker Club.
In the last-four, Puri defeated Andrew Darken (Feltham) 2-0 while Carroll overcame his Chandlers Ford SC clubmate David Stewart (Odiham) by the same scoreline.
Puri, who is based at Hartley Country Club, has a 13-point lead over Carroll and Darken in the Masters rankings, which includes points earned by the players on the Cuestars Seniors (40+) Tour.
Chandlers Ford Snooker Club hosts the second leg of four on Tuesday, December 10.
