Billy Castle wins Snooker Legends 900
BILLY Castle was crowned the 2025 Snooker Legends 900 champion last night in his home town of Reading.
The former professional pocketed £2,000 after beating Dharminder Lilly in the final of Jason Francis’s innovative quick-fire competition at The Crucible Sports & Social Club.
Cuestars director John Hunter said: “They were clearly the best players on the night.”
Castle, 32, showed nerves of steel in his last-four match against Tam Mustafa.
Lilly received £400. Losing semi-finalists Mustafa and Neil Craycraft collected £200 each.
Six of the eight players who won their individual weeks and earned a place on the final night are past or present Cuestars members (Castle, Lilly, O’Shay Scott, Neil Winkworth, Ronnie Sullivan and Craycraft). The weekly winners won £100 each.
The 900 format is one 15-minute frame (ie, 900 seconds) with a 20-second shot clock in operation and ball in hand following a foul.
