English Under-14 Championship

FIVE young Cuestars members have qualified for the last-16 of the English Under-14 Championship.

Connor Benzey (Eastleigh), Mickey Joyce (Basingstoke), Jamie Wilson (Havant), Bradley Cowdroy (Bournemouth) and James Beaven (Banstead) travel to Leeds at the weekend chasing national glory.

The potting quintet progressed via the southern region qualifier at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon, Croydon – the day after Benzey’s 14th birthday.

Benzey (pictured), Joyce and Wilson, from Chandler’s Ford Snooker Club, are joined by Cowdroy, from Greenbaize, Bournemouth, and Beaven, from Frames Sports Bar.

Wilson will be making his fourth appearance in the last-16 and Joyce will be hoping it’s third time lucky. Cowdroy reached the semi-finals last year.
