Sonnie clinches second debut victory
BUCKS snooker player Sonnie O’Sullivan (pictured) has for the second time in six months won the only event he has entered in a season-long competition.
The 19-year-old from Aylesbury pocketed £90 for claiming the fifth and final event of the Under-21 Series at the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester.
O’Sullivan played three of his EASB Premier Junior Tour colleagues in the group stages. He beat Jack Harris (Walsall) 3-1, drew 2-2 with Ben Fortey (Hereford) and beat Harvey Chandler (Wellingborough) 3-1.
And he fought back from 2-0 down to account for Fortey 3-2 in the final.
O’Sullivan won the 2012 Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour championship play-off and the following season repeated the feat in the Gold Tour event.
He won the only Gold Tour event he entered this season, in Salisbury last October, and he is in 15th position on the EASB Premier Junior Tour.
