Three on the trot for Lilly

DHARMINDER Singh Lilly has started the new season on the Cuestars Seniors (40+) Tour as he ended the last.

The former IBSF World Masters champion came through a massive 34-strong field for the opening leg of the 2022/23 campaign on home tables at Fareham Snooker Club to win his third successive event.

Both finalists agreed to split the £220 prize pot because of the lateness of the hour but Lilly beat Jason Pusser (Bournemouth) in a one-frame shootout for the ranking points.

Earlier, Pusser knocked out defending champion John Hunter (Andover) 2-0 in the last-16.

Dean Sycamore and Justin Eggins travelled together from Chichester and both made the semi-finals. Sycamore went down 2-1 to Lilly and Eggins lost 2-0 to Pusser.

A total of 17 breaks of 40 of more were recorded during the Dranfields-sponsored tournament. Pusser took the honours with the highest of 79.

Organisers were delighted to see lots of new faces mixed with plenty of regulars and praised the club’s hospitality.

Woking Snooker Centre hosts the second leg of nine on Sunday, October 23.
