Financial boost for Cuestars players travelling abroad
REGULAR Cuestars members who are chosen to represent England in overseas events may now receive financial support from the Cuestars Sponsorship Fund.
The fund has been boosted recently by personal £100 donations from Dennis Tristram (Croxley Green, near Rickmansworth), Mark Thomas (Chorleywood), David Brock (Tiverton) and Chris Wyatt (Ferndown).
England international Oliver Sykes, whose WPBSA Q Tour entry was paid from the Cuestars Sponsorship Fund, has already achieved two fantastic wins on the feeder circuit for the World Snooker Tour.
The 17-year-old beat Polish international Daniel Holoyda 3-2 in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, and the 2022 England Amateur Championship winner Jamie Curtis-Barrett – a former professional – 3-1 in Sweden.
Cuestars has also just received a goodies package from Joonas Ohtonen of Taom Billiards (taombilliards.com) containing their brilliant V10 chalk.
Cuestars director John Hunter said: “It’s great to have Taom supporting Cuestars and it’s great to see this support helping our regular players.”
