Bell shines in front of top coach Adamson
TOP snooker coach Frank Adamson was the special guest at the Cuestars Snooker Day at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon.
After assessing each of the players, Adamson presented them with a certificate and his recommendations.
Lee Bell (The Academy, Eastleigh) won the tournament which ran alongside.
He defeated the home club’s Troy Bodman 2-1 in the final. It was the first frame Bell had dropped all day.
In fact, Bell (left) and Bodman finished one and two in round-robin Group B.
Bodman accounted for Sam Storey, who had triumphed at the Salisbury Snooker Day in February, in the semi-finals.
Gold Tour players were off a scratch handicap, Silver off 14 and Bronze 28.
The Cuestars ‘Miss Rule’ was applied, where, after a player fails to escape from a snooker, his opponent can play the cue-ball from anywhere on the table.
Cuestars director John Hunter said that all players picked up the innovation quickly. But he added: “Some found the rule a little too harsh, especially if a snooker was fluked with only a few colours remaining.”
