Countdown to Finals Day
THE professional signed as special guest for Finals Day has beaten his own world record.
World number 37 Mark Davis (pictured) will attend the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze championship play-offs and end-of-season presentation on Sunday, May 14, at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon.
Invited players must confirm their attendance by this Sunday (May 7).
The action starts at 10.30am. The Gold, Silver and Bronze play-offs will be a seeded round-robin followed by a knockout.
Those not progressing to the knockout and others who attend but did not finish in the top-16 on their respective tours can enter the one-frame Six Reds knockout.
Davis will play rankings winners, Section champions and play-off champions in exhibition frames from 1pm and present all the trophies at around 5.30pm.
On January 10, at the age of 44, in a Championship League match against former world champion Neil Robertson, Davis became the oldest player to make an official 147 maximum break.
And he repeated the feat against John Higgins in the same competition 51 days later.
Although the Sussex-based professional has been on the pro-circuit for 26 consecutive seasons, a fantastic achievement in its own right, he has never won a ranking event.
