Donnie takes Bronze lead
DONNIE Gola survived a testing time to hit the front on the Cuestars Under-21 Bronze Tour.
The 15-year-old from Islington is top of the rankings after claiming his second winner’s trophy of the season.
He beat University of Southampton student Isaac Wong 2-0 in the final of the eighth leg at Fareham Snooker Club.
Gola, who didn’t drop a single frame out of 11 all day, said: “I was playing on point.
“This time I didn’t get as much practice because I was revising for tests at school. I practised once this week.”
In the last-four, Gola prevailed 2-0 in a “hard game” against William Hurley (Rayleigh), one of his title rivals.
Sixth-placed Tyler Beer (Fair Oak) reached the last-four for the first time.
At this stage of the season, one or two players have usually drawn ahead of the chasing pack but there are still five or six in contention for the title with two legs remaining.
