Sullivan proves that winning can become a habit
RONNIE Sullivan enjoyed the winning feeling for the second event running on the Cuestars Under-21 Gold Tour in south London.
The 20-year-old from Dormansland, near Lingfield, beat Zain Jeraj 2-1 from 1-0 down to collect the £100 first prize in the seventh leg at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.
Sullivan said: “I was struggling at the start of the day and even in the final. But I struggled a little bit less as it went on and I still fancied myself to win.”
And after losing the first frame, he still had the belief.
“I didn’t feel like I was going to miss,” he said. “I knew I was going to win and that is a nice feeling.”
Tooting-based Jeraj qualified for his first Gold final by defeating William Hurley (Rayleigh) 2-0 in the last-four. Sullivan overcame John Donovan (Camden Town) 2-1 in the second semi.
William Thomson (Chandler’s Ford) remains top of the rankings. Will Forster (Whiteley) climbs to second place. Riley Ellis (Swindon) moves up to third and Sullivan jumps six places to fourth.
Sullivan is sponsored by his home club Spots & Stripes, D & L House Clearances and Wallington-based JJ Antiques.
The event was sponsored by Frames Sports Bar (framessportsbar.com) and snookerdad Tan Jeraj.
Fareham Snooker Club hosts the eighth leg of ten on Sunday, March 2.
