Wells breaks tournament duck
MARK Wells broke his tournament duck with a convincing 2-0 victory over Bradley Chappell in a Cuestars Snooker Day at the Greenbaize in Bournemouth.
Group B winner Wells, who has not been past the semi-finals in seven Saturday Section Championships this season, won four of his five group-stage matches. His only defeat was by Callum Goddard.
And he accounted for Kaine Petty in the last-four.
Undefeated in Group A, Bradley Chappell saw off Luke Wandowski in the second semi.
Chappell – currently lying second in the Greenbaize Junior Section Rankings, just one point behind Rikki Moore – recorded the day’s highest break of 48.
In the final of the Plate competition for non-qualifiers, Joshua Brown beat Stewart Ball.
